Candace Avalos
Candace has the heart of a community advocate and the mind of a policy wonk. She is a proactive, positive, and solutions-oriented leader. A Blacktina, she has extensive lived and professional experience and has been involved in key efforts to address nearly every major policy challenge Portland is facing. She has experience and a nuanced approach to every issue from public safety to housing to climate change.
Portland for All is impressed by her connection with East Portland and her passion for the need to represent this long-denfranchised community. As a longtime community organizer, Candace’s skills to develop coalitions and rise above the fray will be invaluable to the City Council.
Candace is actively engaged in the City of Portland. She is the Executive Director of Verde, an environmental justice organization. She has served as Chair of the Citizen Review Committee (public safety), on the Governor’s Central City Task Force, and on the Charter Commission.

Steph Routh
Steph is a lifelong East Portlander with a long history of community advocacy. Many call her a joyful warrior working on behalf of the community. She also has policy expertise, particularly in transportation and urban planning, which would bring focus to governance and center the specific needs of the Eastside.
Portland for All is impressed by her deep commitment to community feedback, accountability, and willingness to have difficult conversations. Steph is an effective collaborator and will bring a commitment to working across differences that are sorely needed on the City Council.
Steph has served the City of Portland in many capacities, including as the former Executive Director of Oregon Walks, Vice-Chair and Chair of the Planning and Sustainability Commission (urban planning)

Timur Ender
Timur is a deeply committed public servant who has spent years focused on transportation access for Portland’s most underserved communities. As a Turkish-American and young parent, he reflects the district's beautiful diversity and brings a track record of consistent engagement with key issues.He will ensure East Portland has a strong voice at the City Council to reverse historic disinvestment in the district.
Portland for All’s endorsement committee was impressed by his commitment to genuine community building and developing the relationships needed for community-driven governance. Timur will bring a trauma-informed care approach to policy and an understanding of why it’s so necessary and required by the community.
Timur has served as a project manager for Portland’s Transportation Bureau and transportation policy advisor at City Hall as part of his commitment to the city.
